Formalised arrangements between a client and their overseas partner

< >

For many years our client had an excellent working relationship with an overseas company which had helped to fund its growth and development. As the growth continued, there was a danger that without formalising the arrangement either party could walk away and jeopardise our client’s financial security.

There was concern that a formal agreement would be costly, complicated and have a detrimental impact on the existing structure of the company. After meeting with both parties we put together an outline proposal that gave the overseas company an equity stake, with the founder directors retaining control of the company and safe guarding their remuneration in a tax efficient way.

Our client can now focus on the business and its growth strategy without worrying about funding being withdrawn.
